Laura Mercier Matte Eye Shadow

I wanted a matte shadow that didn't look dry or chalky on my lids, and this has been a great find. The color blends out smoothly and looks really soft once everything is finished.

Buttercream is such an easy everyday shade. I use it all over my lid when I want a clean, simple eye look without any shimmer.

I've been reaching for this more than my larger palettes lately. One shade, mascara, and a little liner are usually all I need before work.

The texture is really easy to control. I can start with barely any color and gradually build it instead of accidentally putting on way too much.

Plum Smoke gives my eyes definition without looking as harsh as some of my darker brown shadows. I've been wearing it through the crease and lightly along my lash line.

I'm in my 50s and generally prefer matte shadows now. This gives my eyes some depth without emphasizing the texture on my lids.

I wore this for an afternoon event and was impressed that the color still looked even when I checked my makeup later. I didn't have to keep touching it up.

My usual eye look takes about three minutes with this. I sweep a little through my crease, blend the edges, add mascara, and I'm out the door.

Buttercream and Plum Smoke actually work really nicely together. I use the lighter shade across my lid and the deeper one toward the outer corner when I want a little more definition.
