What is Flex and what is their relationship with DermStreet?

DermStreet partnered with Flex to let customers pay for certain skincare, haircare and beauty essentials using HSA or FSA debit cards. By using these accounts, you can buy eligible products with pre‑tax dollars, potentially saving 40–50% depending on your tax bracket.

How do I pay with my HSA or FSA card?

Add items to your cart and, at checkout, choose “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” as your payment option. Enter your HSA or FSA debit card and complete checkout as usual. If the option isn’t visible, you may be in Shop Pay—select “checkout as guest” to access the Flex payment option.

What if I don't have my HSA/FSA card available?

Select “Flex | Pay with HSA/FSA” at checkout and enter a regular credit card. Flex will email you an itemized receipt that you can submit to your HSA or FSA administrator for reimbursement.

Why can't I see Flex as a payment method?

Make sure you’re logged out of Shop Pay. The easiest way is to complete checkout in an incognito window.

Why is my HSA/FSA card being declined?

HSA/FSA cards are debit cards. The most common reason for declines is insufficient funds. Check your balance with your HSA/FSA administrator.

I submitted my Flex itemized receipt for reimbursement and my FSA requires more information.

Forward the FSA’s request to DermStreet, and they will work with the Flex team to provide a new receipt.

Help! I didn't receive an email from Flex with my itemized receipt and/or letter of medical necessity. What should I do?

Check your spam folder—emails from notifications@withflex.com can be flagged as spam. If you still can’t locate the email, contact support@withflex.com with the email address used for the order

I would like to use multiple HSA/FSA cards to pay for an item. Can I do that?

No. Flex doesn’t currently support splitting payments between multiple HSA/FSA cards. If funds are insufficient on one card, pay with a credit card instead; you will receive an itemized receipt or letter of medical necessity for reimbursement.

My purchase receipt from DermStreet has a different number than what my FSA was charged. How can we resolve it?

DermStreet appreciates you reaching out and will review the charges. They’ll follow up with details on the likely refund.

Is sales tax covered by HSA/FSA funds, or is it treated separately?

Sales tax on eligible items is also covered by HSA or FSA funds. For split cards, the tax is allocated across the cards based on the items.
