SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.5

My favorite OTC (actually, favorite in general, including prescription strength tretinoin). My biggest issue is tolerance. When I was using rx tret, I was in a constant battle of applying, ruining by barrier, fixing my barrier, then trying again. Months and months of purging, peeling, and NOTHING seemed to accelerate the process. THIS product, however, is my new holy grail. The peeling is still the same (obviously) but with the other ingredients incorporated into the formula, my skin tolerates it beautifully. I noticed a big difference in texture within two weeks and I feel like my skin is glowing now. A gem!

I've increased usage to 0.5% strength, applying 2-3 times weekly, aiming for 3-4 times. Skin sensitivity noted with other retinol products at this strength. Seeking more anti-aging benefits, understanding increased sensitivity is normal. Progress satisfactory so far.

Retin-A proves too harsh, but this offers a gentler alternative. Though slower-acting, it's non-drying, non-irritating, and seamlessly integrates into my nightly skincare regimen.

After two weeks of use, I appreciate the mild scent of this product. While I haven't noticed significant results yet, I plan to continue using it in hopes of seeing some lightening of my sunspots.
